    Hi
I'm having this problem with my analogue camcorder.
I videoed a 40 minute gig my brother's band did years ago.
After capturing to 1/2 DVD and encoding to TMPGenc the resulting video plays fine on my computer.
But on my DVD player as SVCD I get little jumps in the audio.
If I use TMPGenc and just encode small parts of it using SOURCE option.
Then burn to disk it plays fine.
    Any ideas.

    Cheers

    By the way.
My camcorder only has mono sound.
I used a splitter to get the mono through 2 channels.
But like i say it plays back fine on my computer.
Could the 44.1 to 48hz process have done anything?

I am going to try a 40 min capture from my TV.

    Be back later.

I'm far from an expert but I never used 48hz when converting to svcd (cdr rather than dvdr right?).
I have the same setup as you for capture, including the splitter for audio, and my audio always came out fine.
I may be wrong but I thought you only needed to capture/encode to 48hz when working with *actual* dvd?
I encoded my son's first year (one year old yesterday ) in vcd and having bought a dvd burner intend to do it all again to 720 x 576 dvd compliant mpeg2 (at which point I'll capture and encode at 48hz).
I'm sure someone can tell me the error in my logic

    Hmmmmmmmm
I encoded a new file from the original source.
I encoded at 44hz this time. Still there is a problem with the audio!!
Once again it sounds fine on my computer.
    Any ideas??
Is thing something to do with splitting the mono??
Or just TMPGenc doing a bad job of encoding a large video??

    Hi
It seems it may be my DVD player not liking 1/2 DVD Pal 352 x 576 burned onto CDR.
    Bit of a shame.
