  1. Since my DV camcorder can records in 19:6 (anamorphic). when I make DVD with Studio 8, the video fits nicely on the 16:9 screen and the video has the correct aspect ratio. However, on the 4:3 Tv, eveyone look thin and tall. Some one told me I need to set the 16:9 DAR in my authoring software. This tells the DVD player to squeeze the video vertically to keep 16:9 ratio on 4:3 TV.

I am wondering how to set this DAR 16:9 in Studio 8 ?

    Thanks for any help here.

  3. I am not saying that Studio8 can handle 16:9. What I meant is it does not know about 16:9 anamorphic where the video fills up the 720x480 resolutioin. Therefore, VCD, SVCD or DVD made from it will behave differently in these circumstances:

    1) wide screen TV and DVD player set to wide screen (16:9): the video fit the screen exactly and a circle will look exactly like a circle

    2) 4:3 TV and DVD player set for 4:3, the video still fits the screen but a circle now looks like a rugby ball (squeezed horizontally). THIS IS WHERE my home made 16:9 DVD disc is NOT IDENTICAL to commercial DVD. Commercial DVD discs will shows with black bars on top/bottom to preserve the 16:9 aspect ratio.

My question: how to set the DAR (19:6) flag with Studio 8.
