I have just done and Mpeg 1 file which has a bit rate of 1089 with audio at 128 and 95mins 29 Seconds long.

I used SVCD Calc which gave me the bit rate to use but the file seems too big at 952 mb?

I know you can fit about an 800 mb file on an 80 but thought this maybe too big? I know I could get it on a 99 but only gone one 90 I wanted to try.

If i add it to Nero it says file 861/882 mb?? What with the two figures?

    Anyone help?

you need a 99 min cdr, the 90 min= 89x of time. 99 min cr=97/98x of time. plus up to 990mb file, bloo 8)

  3. Are you using TMPGEnc 2.59, I believe this version has a bug which ouputs the wrong filesize for non standard XVCD mpegs. That filesize is right for that length of film with a standard VCD bitrate of 1150kbps. You have lowered the bitrate but the filesize has not decreased. Try a different version of TMPGEnc.

yes but as I'm not using the standard VCD bit rate I can get more than the time of the disc. Its only 80 for 80 and 90 for 90 when the rates are 1150/224

Yes I am using TMPGEnc 2.59 as its the only full Mpeg 2 version I have!

If I try and burn this with overburn will I damage my drive then?

  6. An extra 50MB is a lot to overburn, it probrably won't fit. As you are only creating mpeg1 why not download an earlier version of TMPGEnc (or I think the bug was removed in the later 2.510) and use this to encode the file.

Is TMPGEnc just making it look bigger than it is or is it actualy bigger?

I could drag out an old version if i have to!

    Thanks

  8. I am not sure, I have not experienced the problem first hand, it is just what I have read on the forums.
