I have a movie on a vcd disc and want to add permanent subtitles to it. Is it possible to encode the .dat file (again) and this time use frame serving to add the subs?

It is possible (using VirtualDub I believe as a frameserver) but you will be
losing quality on your movie on the re-encoding of it.Email me for faster replies!

Yep you can use virtualdub
www.dvdrhelp.com/edit#subs
you can open the .dat directly in virtualdub but if you get problem convert the dat to a mpg with isobuster or vcdgear
