Hi,

Im thinking of getting a DVD ROM but need one that is MultiRegion, any suggestions, models etc..

also will a DVD ROM rip faster than my Pioneer A05 (think it locked a 2.5 speed rip?)

1. Yes will rip faster

2. The majoity of dvd roms can be made multi region with certain software. I am not that clued on this so I would do some research before you buy.

FYI, some burners will not rip at greater than 2X, they're locked. For high speed rips, Liteon drives are widely recommended. Bought mine yesterday.

I don't think so, not right out of the box. There are all kinds of firmware updates/hacks available though, like here: http://digi.rpc1.org/0page.htm
