I am attempting to create a moving background to a simple menu (text buttons). To build my menus I currently use Paint Shop Pro and Pinnacle's DVD Impression Pro. Due to the limitiations of Impression Pro I need to create an mpeg that has my text buttons overlayed. Anyone have suggestions for a cheap (perferrably free) software that can add a mostly transparent frame on top of the mpeg? I am aware that Adobe Premiere is the preferred software but it is just too expensive for a single type of menu creation. Thanks for any help.

You can do this with Avisynth or VirtualDub, which are both free.

Follow this page of my guide down to the Adding Items link and follow that to find out how to do this. -
Thanks for the reply adam. I appreciate the link. After doing a little more research it seems as though all I am trying to do is watermark the file and Vdub seems to be the way to go and I think your site will help.
