  1. Right now I am trying to decide between the Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Deluxe(is the expert available anywhere?) and the Asus TV Tuner Card. I looked at the PVR-250, but was reading about many problems with the software and installation. Right now I have a PIII 800mhz with a Sony DRU-500A. I also have an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ running at about 1800mhz. I could use either computer for capturing, but would rather use the PIII. As of right now I am leaning towards the Asus TV Tuner Card because of the software package and the new connexant chip. However I am afraid of compatability issues with capture programs. I have read about one user not being able to use WinDVR. Is it possible that this will be fixed in a future version? Does anyone know if this card can capture in AVI with any program(it comes with PowerVCR II 3.0 and Power Director 2.1 ME i think)? I have heard that Power Director is a very good program. The one that comes with this card does not support DVDs however. If it is a really good program then I would probably upgrade to the full version. Will there be more compatible capture programs for this new connexant chip in the future? If so how long? Are there any in development right now? I have also read good things about the Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Deluxe although not the software that comes with it. I am buying a card in order to record cable TV and then burn to DVD. Which of these two cards would you recommend and why?

  2. I just read a thread on another forum about the connexant chip. I have decided to get rid of the Leadtek card, but in it's place I am now looking at the PlayTV PVR. I haven't been able to find very much information on this card yet, but it looks similar to the Asus card in features. Can anyone give me some information on this card?
