I've followed the guidelines for TMPGEnc dvd encoding, elsewhere on this site, and it looks fine in preview. But after I burn the disc, the image isn't as good. I have strange lines in the black surrounding resized images. Also, the image quality just isn't great. There's some obvious jittering in the movments on the stills I'm using.

I'm working with Avid Xpress DV, and Ulead Movie Factory. Does anyone have suggestions?

In the Avid the sequence looks fine. Should I output to tape and then burn directly to disc, or is there something else to try? Is it better just to get some post house to make the dvd?

    Thanks,
    Erik

Firstly what sort of file are you working with..? mpeg1 or 2? you mentioned re-sizing which to me would indicate mpeg1 and if you try making mpeg1 into dvd compliant formats it generally will always look crappy.
