i have been downloading all types of files and converting them to mpeg so that i can make vcds. i am using VirtualDub and tmpgenc to do this. my question is when the video is small on the screen here it looks fine and clear. when i make the video full screen then the qty looks very bad. it has that digital effect. and really looks bad when there is fast movement in the video. is there a way to take it from small to full screen without this happening? is there a setting i can set when im converting from asf to mpeg to fix the qty loss from small to full screen? thanks for any help someone can give.

The way to avoid this, is to increase the resolution. This go hand in hand with a increase of the bitrate i.e. the filesize. Also you could play around with the filters like noise reduction and soften block noise. Good luck.
If your downloaded source suck already, you are in trouble.

thanks for the help. im starting to play with the settings now but it still seems to be blocky when its full screen. when i watch them in the media player at its regular size they look great but when i go to full screen it goes all to hell. and the way i looks in full screen on the media player is the way it looks on the tv when played from the vcd i made of it. im going to try to find me a better qty video and give it a try. thanks again for everyones help.
