  1. I have tried them all. You name it, i've tried it and they all don't work well at all. They all come out of synch. I tried Cleaner and it just freezes. I've tried ffmpegX and it starts out well but then it goes out of synch. I've tried DVision 1.2.4 but it doesn't give you the option to do mpeg-2. forty-two is hopeless. Doesn't read the fonts. I don't know why it needs fonts if you are not even using them! I tried MissingMpegTools0.9.1.. nothing. CAN SOMEONE OUT THERE PLEASE tell me from start to finish on how to made a WORKING AND SYNCH SVCD? PLEASE? I have a 933mhz 756RAM and 100+gigs. PLEASE, let's make a once in for all good method that would stop making Macs look bad at doing this.

By the way, I'm converting the Band of Brothers episodes to SVCD.

    Thanks

Btw, Band of Brothers is a complete pain to rip with most apps (but 42 will do it). It is pretty much impossible to get a whole episode in synch (except episode 10 for some reason).

The new rebuilt version of fourty-two will be out soon. I've been helping test it. I had a few disks that would not work, but that was because of disk problems and not problems with the program. I'm not sure what this font problem is that you mentioned, I've never run across it. Even with the old version of fourty-two I have managed to back up a lot of my dvds

Give fourty-two another try. It is truly the best program for synching.

Even though this is pretty much useless, since the new version of Forty-Two is just around the corner, but the first release of Forty-Two will still work after displaying that error. In fact, it should say something to the effect of 'fonts not found, using default font' or something. Either way, if you're not using subtitles, you won't even notice a difference. This is usually caused by missing or messed up 'font' folder in your /library/application support/forty-two/ directory. Just keep encoding, and many hours later, you should have a synched rip.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  4. Thanks for the posts guys and thanks to elreeko. I will try to rip with a different and smaller DVD movie. Maybe like my Simpsons season 2 DVD. I will try one of those 22 min episodes.

    Thanks again.
