  1. Hi all,

I have been burning my first movies from divx/dvd sources to svcd using dvd2svcd and have come across this strange problem.

dvd2svcd creates my mpeg2 files - 2 for this example. In dvd2svcd, under the bitrate tab, my movie length for this example is 2:08:28, which falls under 2cd's of 800mb each -- 65 min - 130 min.

I go to Nero, and have preferences set for overburn. I burn my first half of my movie, disc 1, which in windows explorer the file size apporx. 814mb, to my 80 min/700mb FujiFilm cd-r's. I have run Nero Cd Speed test to check the overburn capacity of media and I have set the overburn preferences correctly - 81:28:01. Nero prompts me that the file is to large for standard burning and I override for the overburn.

Nero burns the disc fine, but when I tried to play back the movie on my pc from the cd-r I just burnt, it will just sit there. My jvc player will play it just fine, but does not display the correct time on these overburned discs via Nero. Now, when I play the movie back on my jvc-500sbk, it displays a movie length of around 39 min 54 sec, but I know by fast forwarding through the couple movies I have tried this with, that the actual clip is around 55 min.

When I burn the cd2, the second half of my movie, apporx. 814mb, it burns it just fine, with same overburn prompt via Nero, which I override for overburn. But when I play this disc in my player, it displays the same 39 min 54 sec, but only plays that exact amount of movie, unlike the 1st disc that played appox. 55 min, which is the correct amount of movie on that 1st disc.

So, do I need to adjust the size of my cd's down a little bit under the bitrate tab of dvd2svcd from 800mb - 794mb so that this adjusts the problem or are my setting to close to cut off point between 2 and 3 cds. Is it something simple or I am just missing something?

    Open to all suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Marques
