  1. Howdy,

Trying to turn some vcds into dvds. I understand the process with out any problems but I am having a problem with the first step. When I use VcdGear 2.0 to extract the .dat file into a mpg it comes up with an error not a .dat file or wrong signature. Is there something i am missing or is there another program I can use. I did not create the vcds myself so I do not know how or with what they were created with. Thanks in advance.

  4. Hey thanks for the help. I will go try the latest Vcdgear. I tried using Tmpgenc to demux the .dat file but it says illegal mpg file. I also can not copy the .dat file from the cd it says illegal ms dos prompt or something like that. How does Tmpgenc do it. I just went to Mpg tools and awent to simple demux and chose the file from the vcd and got the above mentioned error. Thanks

    -deletes own post-

OK, sorry for the threadjacks, i had a final trawl through the tutorials and found the solution tucked away (increasing directshow priority). Argh. Something so simple. Haven't yet tested it, but preparation in advance, is there a way to delete my own posts or do i just delete all the text in them and have the little furry critter's face sitting there silently as a mark of "duhhh"?

Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!
