    Hello all,

Since the VCD and SVCD specs support high resolution stills of 704x240/288 (NTSC/PAL VCD) and 704x480/576(NTSC/PAL SVCD), I'd like to have this high quality resolution for my menus and other stills, but I can't seem to find the option under Ulead DVD Workshop v1.3.

Does anyone know if it's possible to accomplish, and how?

I know I could use VCDEasy to encode regular pictures to stills, but I love the ease of use DVD WS offers when putting together a menu, so I'd rather not make the menus in an art program.

    Thanks for any pertinent info!

  2. I believe in DVD Ws you just add your stills to the library and use them when creating the menus. The prog does the encode for you. I do agree it is a good prog to use for authoring.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer, but if you drop some stills into the timeline and burn, it should be pretty obvious from the rotten quality if DVD WS is encoding them to MPEG-1 video.

If you want to compare full still quality on a VCD, download Ulead's DVD Slideshow, the trial will let you do a show of 10 slides, and that program does encode to the VCD still resolution spec.

Also check out Photodex Proshow, since they sponsor this site.

Does slide shows quite effectively, even XSVCD & CVD
