Is there anyway to burn a small MPEG-2 file in DVD format on a CDR so that the DVD player will think and read it like a DVD except the only difference is that its smaller. I want to burn a 30min vid file on CDR. I have it encoded but I tried all the DVD methods (or so I think) and it doesn't seem to work. Is what I want done possible?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I do know Video Studio 6.X has a DVD authoring program that puts a DVD mpeg file on a CD-R. You may want to give the demo a try.
Hello. -
a cDVD will only work in a SOFTWARE computer based DVD player
I have not heard of more than 2 models of DVD player that will play a DVDVOLUME on CD!
However, THE APEX line of DVD players (and others as well) will allow you to play a DVD-COMPLIANT already MUXED STEAM (THAT IS: a MPEG-2 file with audio and video in one file) if its placed in the ROOT of the CD and
the player will give a menu like when you select MP3's only the menu item will bear a DVD "designation" -
Look in the DVD player's section to the left and click the miniDVD check box before pressing the search button.
True not many standalone DVD players will support this format.Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
