Hey when i first started this movie downloading/VCD thing about a year ago, i used Angel Potion codec to watch my Avi files. Unfortunatly i had that little distortion in color(turns red), but over all i was content. Then i found out about the Nimo codec. I uninstalled my old Angel potion and installed that, and i found that i was able to watch more moviesthat utilized it. Now the Xvic Codec is out. And i am alittle confused, With whether this codec is the going to be the Codec of choice or not, amongst the public. I also want to know if i do download it, would i have to uninstall my Nimo Codec to install the Xvid codec? Are there also better codecs out there?

nimo isnt a codec.. Its a dude that made a sett of codecs and combined that in one pack=> THE NIMO CODEC PACK
In that pack, the XVID codec is included... and you dont have to uninstlal ANYTINWanne earn something a couple of dollars?

You only need a few, and installed separately.
DivX 5.02 Pro
DivXMPEG4 Hi-Res Video Codec - 3.11alpha release
M$ MPEG 4, V1 V2 V3 (Hacked)
XviD-04102002 (Uninstall after Use)
Moonlight Odio Dekoda, Universal AC-3/MPEG Audio (Layer 1/2/3) Decoder
Fraunhofer Mp3 Pro
Ligos Technology LSX-MPEG Suite v2.0 (Mpeg 2 filters) use with TMPGEnc

WHOA! This is starting to make sense. I got another question!
I have the nimo codec pack installed and i also installed the Xvid codec, installed seperatly. I am sure that ever since i did this my VCD's have not been coming out to great! When the angel potion codec was favored, my VCD's played out on my DVD player well(Samsung DVD-M101). Then when i switched to the Nimo Pack and Xvid, my VCD's dont come out at all. I must have burned 20 vcd's and converted 20 avi's to Mpg's all according to the "DivX to VCD guide." I have not changed any of the methods to making the VCD , but after i burned like 20 different VCD's and None of them worked!!! I figured that something had to be wrong. I tested those dvds on a different Samsung DVD player(Dual VHS/DVD) They all worked Great! Do the Codecs have different affects on different DVD players?
Hope i made sense of this. I am still a newbie -
i dont install all the codecs on the nimo codec pack either, i just install the ones i need, DivX, Xvid, freuenhoffer etc.
