I'm going through hell and back trying to burn this one stupid file to a Video-CD and in the process NERO just crashed and won't run again!!![]()
Oh well, $55 down the drain.![]()
Now, I'm going to try and burn the file to a "bin" file using "VCDImagerGUI v0.6". I figure it's worth a shot. So... I pull the program up, select the files... hit "GO" and got this:
"VCDImager: mpeg scan: pack header code expected, but 0x52494646 found (buflen = 2324)".
Hmmm... so what has the cat dragged in now???![]()

Firstly, VCDImager 0.6 GUI is OLD OLD OLD. VCDImager itself is now in v0.7.12 and if you want a GUI for the newest version, try GNU VCDImager Tools GUI: http://www.michaeltam.com/vcdimager_tools_gui.html
Alternatively, another good VCD authoring package based on VCDImager is VCDEasy: http://www.vcdeasy.org
Secondly, you can just use any old MPEG file as a VCD. Is your MPEG actually compliant for VCD? http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcd
In any case, try remultiplexing your MPEG with TMPGEnc:
File --> MPEG Tools --> Simple Multiplex
Load up your file and set your save file.
Change the setting to MPEG-1 Video-CD if you know that your MPEG file is compliant with VCD specs.
Change the setting to MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard) if your MPEG file is not compliant with VCD specs. (note: you will then be creating an XVCD and there is no guarantee that such a disc will work with any particular player).
Now, use your MPEG file as the source file for the creation of a VCD.
If you are using VCDImager Tools GUI, have a look at the "Simple Multitrack" article on an idea of how to create a simple VCD: http://www.michaeltam.com/simple_multitrack.html
