    I just purchased a JVC XV-S502SL DVD player. The primary purpose was to take the large number of JPEG photos from our digital camera and assemble them into slide shows and photo albums. I chose this DVD player because it can display JPEG's as well as VCD/SVCD on CD-R/CD-RW media. I also chose Pinnacle Expression as the software package to do our slide shows; good brand name and all of the features that I wanted to "upgrade" our presentations. I'm afraid I made a mistake along the line as the VCDs and SVCDs I burn from the Pinnacle package will not play on the JVC model I chose. I have also tried PictureToTV and Photo2TV which will produce VCDs that the JVC will play. However, the quality of the output from Photo2TV is very poor; lots of other features but really can't take the final TV picture. PictureToTV on the other hand, has good pictures but very few features to "upgrade" the presentation. My question is am I missing some other product that will produce compatible VCDs/SVCDs for the JVC or is there another DVD player that will handle JPEGs and the Pinnacle Expression VCDs/SVCDs???.

    Got my answer yesterday after waiting an hour and a half on the phone with the "support" group from Pinnacle Systems. Quote "we don't support that DVD player"!!
    Lesson learned, don't rely on a name brand software, try it first or save your money. I'm now evaluating:
    Photo2VCD
    VCDEasy
    PictureToTV
    XATShow
    DVD Photoplay
    Ulead DVD Picture Show
    I've ruled out;
    Daxxle OnDVD no demo
    ArcSoft Showbiz no demo
    Magix Pictures to CD no demo
    If anyone has others that could qualify let me know. I'll publish my findings in the next week or so.
