I found that Kiss technology makes a player that supports divx 4 and 5.

Just wondering if any other dvd players supported it.
Other questions would be whether or not the player would support codecs like XVID or AC3.

That's beyond old now. There are MANY threads on this one.
It will play divx 4 and 5 and xvid, providing they were encoded without using some options... So no DivX, and neither all those movies with QPel, no GMC, and who knows what else... It probably doesn't work with AC3, and if it did, would it work well with most interleaving values...?
I'm sure there's lots of things it does not and never will not support. I just don't think it's worth the money or hassle. If you're really going to play so much DivX, might as well build a HTPC. -
I just want to play divx so much cause i have a collection of over 400 divx movies.. How do I go about building one of these so called "HTPC's" And what exactly are they?
I run tv out from my computer now and that works fine..just dont like it when i wanna watch movies in a diff room, and dont have a 500 foot video cable. -
A HTPC is a "Home Theater PC". Just a PC dedicated to A/V (mainly) with a nice front end, with a remote control and the like. You can build something fancy, or build one on the cheap from used parts. Mine costed me like 125$ and it will play everything.
I actually make a website on this http://divx.reallybites.com not many updates lately, have been busy, but I'm still working on it -
Hrmmm.. according to the reviews, it looks like it supports DIVX.

You can download a DiVX 700mb file off a cable modem in less than 2 hours. Then you can burn it onto a CDR and play it through this player. This player demands no new cd-burning technology. Simply use nero(http://www.ahead.com) to burn the DiVx video as a Data CD ISO.XviD (all version till 29.12.2002 tested) and DivX 5 works perfectly ( both with B-Frames).Now with Ogg/Vorbis support too!

DOH. Read other threads. This has been asked MANY times before.
Again, it will NOT play all DivX, only a fraction of them (less than half of those I have...)
Waste of time and $, again, read other threads.
