I am considering buying a Prolink PlayTV PVR card. But before I do, I need to know a few things.
Information about the card is located at:
http://www.prolink-usa.com/english/product/tv-cx883p+.html
But it doesn't say too much. I mean, sure the card looks great. What I want to know is does the card work with third party software such as Showshifter or Intervideo's WinDVR. Do they support WDM drivers or is everything VFW? Please someone help me. I tried to call them but they can barely speak english.
"This card wok on everyting, it wok on Windows" Extremely unhelpful.

If you can't get the info consider walking away.
Many PVR cards don't work well with 3rd party apps. The WinTV PVR 250, one of the most popular, is that way.Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
With all due respect, any tv card can be considered a pvr since the term stands for Personal Video Recorder. Hell, my old AIW 7500 could be called a PVR. Any card that is capable of recording tv shows can be called a PVR. Anyways, I just need to know if this card will work with other software such as Showshifter or WinDVR or iuVCR. I had a Win TV PVR 250. Believe me, that is different. That card is hardware MPEG2 assisted which is why you can't use it with other software. Nowhere have I seen anything that the Prolink PlayTV PVR is hardware mpeg2. So please someone post a usefule response. Will or or will I not be able to use third party programs with this card which I am considering?
