    I am trying to put a few 20 minute shows onto a DVD using Sonic My DVD. On the DVD case it says you can put up to 360 minutes in SLP mode. How do I get it to record in this mode? so far I have only been able to get 60 minutes on them.

    You can manually re-encode them playing with the bitrates to shorten up the files (losing some quality). Do a search here of some guides, there are numerous on this BBS.

    You can load the DVD template, then unlock and change the bitrate.

    What kind of TV shows?

    Talk shows and low action shows (sitcoms) don't need alot of bitrate, I did a show with 2000 min and 5000 max and it was overkill.

    I am trying to put Simpsons episodes on. I changed the bitrate with TMPGEnc but it split it into a m2v and wav files. I imported the m2v and am able to fit 9 shows but I couldn't get the wav file on it so it has no sound. Any advise?

    When you encode your Simpsons in TMPGenc use the Low Res DVD settings i.e. use CIF size 352x240 and you can wack your bitrates down low to say 1500 average with MPEG1 encoding and it will still be DVD compliant.

    It will be like having a big VCD and you will get abou 11 episodes on, I know because I did (TMPGenc & DVD Workshop combo)

    The only problem with MyDVD is it is just like DVDiT PE and likes to re-mux everything etc. Get hold of Ulead DVD Workshop 1.2 and you will thank yourself. I dump DVDiT PE for DVD Workshop a while back and am much happier

    I hope this helps )

  6. If you want to fit more on DVD, don't use MyDVD. MyDVD is converting sound to PCM format and it takes too much space. MPEG audio is much smaller. There is nothing that you can do about this in MyDVD.

    Another solution is to lower bitrate, but then you loose quality.

    It doesn't play the audio when I preview it. when I try to do it without changing the video bitrate it works fine. Do I have to change the audio bitrate too?

  10. m2v file is video only you have to add audio to it. Drag wav file from WinExplorer and place it on m2v clip.

    How about ~6 hours Full D-1 on a DVD instead of lower quality SLP? If this sounds good to you, check here: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2073&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=540

    You can use ULEAD's DVD MovieFactory. Works great

    kwag that would be great but I have no idea what:

    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\MPEG2DEC.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\fluxsmooth.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\GripFit_preview.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\blockbuster.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\legalclip.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\sampler.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\encoding\vobsub.dll")

    Mpeg2Source("K:\COUNT_OF_MONTE_CRISTO\VIDEO_TS\cou nt.d2v")
    LegalClip()
    vobsub("K:\COUNT_OF_MONTE_CRISTO\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0 ")
    GripFit( source_anamorphic = true, dest_anamorphic=false, width=720, height=480, overscan=2)
    FluxSmooth()
    Blockbuster(method="noise", variance=.3, seed=1)
    LegalClip()

    Sampler(length=24)
    ## MPEG size = ((Total frames/MovieTimeInMinutes)/24) * MPEG sample file size ##

    means at all.

    donpedro, when I don't try to change the bitrate all I have to do is import the m2v file, when I try to import the wav file I get an error message.

    that's just a script. you use it with avisynth. it can greatly improve the quality of your encodes.
