Hello,
I am currently decided on whether to purchase a DVD-RW Drive. Basically, the only thing that is stopping me is if I would be able to backup a movie, like Gladiator, which has DTS 6.1 sound?
If one of you out there could tell me if I could make an exact copy of the sound that would be helpful.
Thanks

If you use DTS you also have to have at least AC3 2 Channel with it.
May the force be with you. -
You can certainly encode and rip movies with DTS sound. Gladiator is no problem.
It is a function of the software that you use, not the drive. For authoring with DTS you will need DVD Maestro. IFOEDIT supports DTS but I have had dropouts during playback when using IFOEDIT.
The DVD specification requires that a disk having DTS also has a Dolby Digital or PCM track also. However I have made a number of disks with ONLY DTS and these play fine in my Sony NS305.
