  1. Trying to covert asf to mpg
I can't open the asf file in virtualdub to convert the audio to a wav file. Which means that if I just covert the asf file using tempegenc to an mpg it has no sound. The message I get when I try to open the asf file in virtualdub is that it no longer supports asf files in accordence with some patient that Mircosoft has.

Can anyone give me some help here

  2. 1. If you want to use TMPGenc then follow this advice:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm#problems

    2. If you want to use Virtualdub look for version 1.3c
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  3. I am trying to convert the ever famous "Tokyo Breakfast" from asf to mpg so I can burn it to VCD. I also have the error of no sound once it's converted. I downloaded VD 1.3c but I get an error message when I try to load the ASF file. The error message is "ASF: parse error -- too many segments in packet at 72c (5 expected) packet size = 100. send time: 0:00"

Anyone know how to fix this?

  4. I vaguely remember two things aout this that may help. Version 1.3c had a patch associated with it (for the ASF "codec" I believe). Also, if your ASF was a captured ASF stream (i.e., streambox), you need to re-index it so that virtualdub can convert it (ASFindex GUI) to avi or mpeg.
