My DVD player is supposed to be able to play MPEG-1/2 streams "straight from the DVD", but I'm guessing I'll have to put it in some form of wrapper? Can I stick the mpgs as avseqxx.mpg and manually fix a SVCD structure? What would I have to do to get the player to play those avseq's consecutively? Is there info somewhere on this site that explains what files are necessary etc?

    Thanks,

    /Wizeman

  2. Normally this means you simply put the mpeg2 or mpeg1 or even vob file on a iso formatted CD-R or DVD-R disk. For my cyberhome 402, I just burn the mpeg files with toast in normal mac hybrid mode. When I used toast iso 9660 mode the disk played at a superslow stuttered speed but all was well when I used toast's mac hybrid mode. Keep in mind your DVD player will only be able to play the file up to the bit rate capability of the cd side of the dvd player. For example a 32x cd mechanism in the the player will only play up to 4.8m.

Same for DVD - just put the files on a DVD-R using normal toast DVD mode. No bitrate limitation in this case.

Sounds wonderful, but when I've tried that (using a CD-RW and burning it as "DVD" in Toast) it doesn't work. I know that my player accepts the miniDVD, so it *should* read this too... Then again, I haven't been able to get it to play MPEG-1 files from a ISO9660 CD either :/ strange, because I keep reading it's supposed to support this, and Lord knows it supports just about everything else :P

Hehe, apart from DVD-9... it's started acting up (probably forgotten how to play real DVDs - I mainly use it for SVCD rotfl) so back to the store it goes... Hope to God they can fix it or that I can find another player that plays everything )

    Thanks all,
