  1. I dont know if this question has ever been asked but why is it we never see comercials for AMD proccesors. I know everyone has seen the pentium 4 comercials with the blue man group apearing left and right. But no AMD. Has anyone have any input on this? I just feel that if they marketed their product that they can take a big chunk in computer sales away from Intel. When I first came into the computer scene I thought Intel was the thing worth buying, but now I have two AMD pc's and recommend them to everyone I know. So if any one has any input let me know. Thaks
where do i go from here?

  2. probably because amd doesnt have as huge of an advertising budget as intel. you have to consider amd doesnt sell as many chips as amd does. so they cant afford to have as many tv commercials (if any?). but if you read computer mags you'll see ads for amd chips in some of them.

even though amd makes better stuff, cheaper.. doesnt mean they'll win.

its sorta like the whole "xerox" & "kleenex" thing.. but not as bad..

Besides AMD is kicking Intel's ass without any advertising. Intel's strangle hold on the market has waned despite their best efforts including running a faster raw processor speed. I think AMD has taken a much better approach. They have let their product speak for itself as you mentioned with PC Mag reviews that hail their chips as superior. AMD has also done something very hard which is generate word of mouth advertising. This is the elusiver advertising that everyone wants because it comes from people that have experienced a product and can truely influence other's buying habits. Just as you said, you would reccomend AMD to anyone and everyone. That is exactly what AMD wants to hear.

It's not the mhz's that counts. AMD Palomino will sure beat once again P4 (any model) in most of the tests anyway, even with much lower Mhz-count.
