PBC

  1. What is PBC in regards to playing a vcd on a dvd player. When it first
starts playing it says PBC ON, on the screen.

If you create a photoalbum, say in winoncd, which has menus on it and put the disk in to your DVD player with PBC OFF, you will just get a blue screen stating the disk needs to be in VIDEO CD 2.0 standard and will not play.

If you turn PBC ON, the disk will play and menus will be available and you can select the menues.

As the previous poster stated, it allows you to use menus on VCDs.

PlayBackControl (PBC) is used for menus and chapters to navigate in-between them. With PBC, you can't use the "Goto" function on your remote. The "Goto"function on your remote is for jumping to a specific place unlike PBC where you can jump to a chapter that was created.

    Hope That Helps!!! :P
