  1. I have some un altered VOBs & IFOs that will fit onto a DVD-r. I can't remember how to make the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VOB with IFOEdit.

I know I need to load the movie VOB IFO into IFO Edit and get VTS sectors, but I can't remember how to make the stupid VIDEO_TS etc.....lol.

I don't see how to do it in the guides on Doom9 .

What am I missing, OR, do i need to demux and remux with IFOEdit to get it to create a VIDEO_TS.IFO and VOB?

Shouldn't I be able to copy all the VOBs from a DVD with the VOB IFO without any messing around with the VOBs if it will fit onto one DVD-r. I know I will be missing the extras, but this will keep the subs audio etc.....with no re-encoding.

So far this is what I have done, will this work?

Copied VIDEO_TS VOB and IFO to VIDEO_TS Folder
Copied main movie VOBs and IFO to same folder
Opened Movie.IFO in IFOEdit and got VTS sectors
    Saved new Movie.IFO
    Opened VIDEO_TS.IFO in IFOEdit
    Get VTS Sectors
    Saved VIDEO_TS.IFO

    Then copy to DVD-r

    Is this correct.

    TIA.....

Ifoedit does not create the VIDEO_TS directory. You have to manually create it on you HD. When you create the ifo files put your vob's in that directory and Ifoedit will ctreate the four ifo files in the VIDEO_TS directory you created.

  3. WHICH VERSION ARE U USING?095 perhaps?

If this is true, and you have the vts_xx_x.ifo

just open in ifoedit click vob extras at bottom

dialogue opens create new ifo files along with 4 boxes
    above it...

    waIT30 mins,look 2 c which subs n langs u have also...

  4. SORRY I FORGOT....

Whatever you do,DO NOT TRY TO CREATE IN SAME FOLDER
    THIS WIILL OVERWRITE UR FILES...

create a new VIDEO_TS folder somewhere else
dont forget the AUDIO_TS folder when u burn either...

This way ur dvd will start without menu, this is way i use
    now, but isnt really complicated..

  5. Im sorry, I don't think I explained myself very well. I have created a folder on my HD called VIDEO_TS and one called AUDIO_TS (although I know AUDIO_TS folder is not needed). I then copied over all the files named VTS_02_XX.vob and VTS_02_0.IFO into the VIDEO_TS folder, which were extraced using DVD Decrypter. So what I have is the main movie VOBs and IFO which, without any stripping fit onto a DVD-r. I also know that I need to choose UDF 1.50 etc..... on the burning process.

    My question is this......

Now, don't I need a VIDEO_TS.VOB and VIDEO_TS.IFO in order for my Sony DVD player to recognize and play my DVD-r. If I need the VIDEO_TS.VOB and VIDEO_TS.IFO how do I create them, or will my DVD player recognize the dvd and let me play it. I thought I had read on the Doom9 site that every DVD Video had to have a VIDEO_TS.VOB , VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP. I think I need to rename them like VTS_01_1.VOB VTS_02_2.VOB etc..... but my main question is how do I create the VIDEO_TS files? And, do I also need to rename the VOBs from VTS_XX_2.VOB to VTS_XX_1.VOB?

    Thanks Again

Sorry for the poor explaination on the above post .......

  6. YOU DONT NEED A VIDEO_TS.IFO/BUP?

    WHO ARE YOU KIDDING????????

USING UDF1.50 ALSO?AINT GONE BE VERY "COMPATABLE"
    WITH VERY MANY PLAYERS EITHER...

Take it from us that know, what's a few extra lttle files anyway...

SOmeone i didnt really know, showed me a disc he made on
studio8,and he said disc would play on one but not another
cause pinnacle didnt take into account the empty audio_ts
    folder....

You should choose 1.32 udf setting in nero if thats what ur using..
There have been many posts on that subject....

  7. Here's one more note, don't try to rename vob's from 2 to 1
use ifoedit95 it will automatically rename them for you.

It will also create a video_ts.ifo/bup for you,the vob on video_ts
will not be needed,if you dont need the menu....

  8. That is what I am asking, how do i do this? Just burn the VOBs to the dvd with the original ifo. don't change anything? I am not understanding how you want me to do this? Sorry .....

  9. after reading all the replys here, i dont think anyone really read the original question. to create the files in question you can do it 2 ways. 1 way is whenever you originally rip with dvd decrypter it will highlight just the movie ifo and the vobs of the movie itself, before you rip you can also highlight the video_ts.ifo and bup files to be ripped with everything else.
2nd if you've already ripped it then load ifoedit (i use 0.91) and go to vob extras and select create new video_ts.ifo and let it run. after it is complete then close out ifoedit and reopen it and get vts sectors then at this point you can dump all the ifo, bup, and vobs in the video_ts folder of your favorite burner and enjoy it in your stand alone.

if you are not having to strip any vob's to make the movie fit, in other words if your just dealing with dvd-5 then why not just iso read and iso write with dvd decrypter and save yourself some time and steps. just a friendly suggestion.

  10. Ok, I think I got it.....is this what you want me to do?

    Create VIDEO_TS Folder
Copy VOBs and IFO (Originals, less than 4.7GB)
    Open IFOEdit
Open VOB extras and select create new Movie IFO files?

This inturn will then creat the new VIDEO_TS.VOB, VIDEO_TS.IFO, and VIDEO_TS.BUP ?

Then close IFOEdit, then re-open IFOEdit and load the Video_ts.Ifo and select get VTS sectors?

Then I can burn to DVD-r?

Also from what I have read I should use UDF 1.50 on Nero right?
As that is what I have gotten from these forums, unless I missed something......?????

Yes I am using IFOEdit 095.......

    Thanks Again

  12. go to derrows site on ifo edit. There is a link to a guide there on how to do easily do a conversion. it is very straight forward. The program does not make a VIDEO_TS Directory you have to do that. If you burn with nero just dump your files from the VIDEO_TS you converted into the one in Nero. This is extremley easy just look at the guides.

  13. LOL, i know it doesn't make a VIDEO_TS directory. I am trying to figure out how to make the freakn VIDEO_TS.IFO and VOB.......

Again, the files are small enough to fit onto a DVD-r. So I DON'T want to strip anything.

I Used DVD Decrypter to extract the main MOVIE VOBs and IFO and I placed them into a VIDEO_TS directory. I just need to know how to create the VIDEO_TS files, thats all ......SO I can then play them on my set top box.

    Thanks Again.....

  14. OK, iM sorry, i thought you said u had altered vob's

This is what i do every weekend with 9 out of 10 dvd's

Insert dvd in drive, let power dvd play for 10 seconds

Fire up smartripper, let it do its thing....
click on files, check all relevant files, in most cases,
this is video_ts.ifo/bup/vob...<menu stuff here and main video
    such as vts_01_0.ifo/bup/vob
    looks Vts_01_1.vob 1,048,000 kb
    like vts_01_2.vob 1,048,000kb
    this Vts_01_3.vob 1.048,000kb
    most vts_01_4.vob 1,048,000kb
    times vts_01_5.vob 300,000kb

sometimes these may be larger than 5 gigs, but using"ifoedit"
you can take out subs languages to conserve space, using a
formula of 150 mgs per set, u can make ur own choices...

Rip these to a movie folder such as DVD_RIP,at this time i do not
    create a video_ts/audio_ts folder....

Rip them to a folder takes about 30 minutes,
when ur done doing this create VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders

OPen ifoedit, open vts_01_0.ifo,lots of info pops up,
at bottom click on vob extras, extras screen pops up,
click strip stream, vobids, correct nav pack, correct ifo files,
and last but not least, create new ifo files...

When u create new ifo files, this over writes the menu files,
so when u play ur dvd in dvd set-top player, no fbi stuff
no warnings,no trailers no menu period...

Check off things you can save space if ur critical, like spanish
    subs,or langs...

click on ur video_ts folder so u can save them in there,i've learned
from my earlier mistakes, so i do this this way...

let it do it thing, takes another 30 mins, close and reopen ifoedit
when completed, now open the video_ts folder with ifoedit, click
on video_ts.ifo, then click get vts sectors, cause now everything
is different than the originals, it takes just a few seconds to do
this, and you'll see results on ur screen, now close ifoedit,

Fire up nero, others use prassi or gear, but i havent tried those
yet, click on dvd udf/iso, its the last one, check to see on the udf
tab, to see if its udf 1.02, thats the one that works well, transfer
ur video_ts audio_ts folders, need to be in alll caps now,
watch the bottom to make sure its not over 4500mg

Burn it at whatever speed you can, and Whal-lah...

Now in smartripper or dvd decripter, if ur files are wayover 5 gigs
and u strip all excess subs/langs out, and its still over 4.37 gigs
start thinking about rempeg, or trry to strip out credits in smart-
ripper by checking chapters, but thats a whole separate guide...

  15. WTF are you lot on about!.
Open up the the main movie IFO in Ifoedit. Select vob extras and then create new ifo's. Select a different destination directory from the one that the Vob files are presently in.Make sure that "correct original ifo files" is ticked,"Correct VOB-unit(Navigation Packs) pointers in VOB files" is ticked and also"Create new IFO files.(Movie only)" is ticked and leave all the others on that side unticked and then press OK. It wil take a half hour or so and then close Ifoedit. Then Re-open it and select the new VIDEO_TS.IFO that you've just created and hit "Get VTS Sectors". VOILA!!!!
