I see no real difference except it comes out of the box with 4x DVD+R.

Ok some one going to ask this so I will bite the bullet.

Sounds like a 500a with F firmware. But what about all of the orders places for the 500a? Will Sony fill back orders with 500ax for the very tight in supply 500a or just cancel.
