Hi All,
I am having a hell of a time trying to get my mpegs captured right!
I am using a Vitec DCM to capture and all I got after capturing is several artifacts (not noise nor blockiness) in my dvd player (Panasonic tabletop). If I just canvert an avi (using the same settings) using MainConcept I can view the DVD perfectly in my dvd player.
I can view both files perfectly in my pc...
Is there a way I can view the MPEG2 header file or something that can give me information about was wrong with the mpeg captured by the mpeg2 capture board?
Regards,

I am using DVD WorkShop 1.3
What I still don't get it is why I can play the mainconcept files and not the captured ones!
This is driving me crazy!!!
Thanks for the help!Jose Febus -
morning jfebus,
I think that one of the reasons why is because or so that
you CAN capture (real-time) to MPEG. That is, it has to
make a few sacrafices or diviations in the MPEG standard
in order to minimize (as much as possible) your final MPEG.
That's why those capture cards will usually cme with some
sort of MUXer or will point out an autor package that is
compatible with your given MPEG clip.
So, Why does your MPEG succeed with MC ?? simple, MC is not
skimping on the MPEG standards (per format you are aiming
for ie, SVCD or DVD)
That's how I see it. I could be wrong, but I don't think
so, given my experience w/ software real-time and hardware
MPEG capture cards ( low end models at least $ )
If you capture straight to AVI (ie, huffy or uncompressed,
or DV) you have choice of what software MPEG encoder to use
in your final MPEGs.
