converting divx avi file to mpeg vcd

ok i dl a 700mb divx movie and split it into 2 parts using virtualdub then i used these instructions http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm to convert each file to vcd then i burnded using nero 5.5.10 like i always do and i went to play it on my dvd player like i always do and well it freezes every once in a while ?

its really annoying its kinda hard to watch when it freezes every so often i have watched 45 minutes on cd1 so far and it has probably froze up 20 times each for about 1-2 seconds each time

but the thing is when i play the mpeg on my pc it is fine no freezing or anything

any help?

is it your dvd player? did you check the compatibility chart?

yeah its not my dvd player i have played tons of vcd/svcd with both cdr and cd-rw and never had a playback issue before
