    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone out there could help me as I received a lovely new Ricoh 5125A DVD+RW/+R writer for Christmas and I have been unable to get my stand-alone player to play any of my discs I have written.

I wrote the discs (Ricoh DVD+RW) using Nero 5.5.8.0 (Ricoh) which came with the writer, using the wizard. I have tried writing as DVD-Video and DVD-ROM (UDF) with a filesystem version of UDF 1.02 as I read an article on here that suggested that may be the problem.

The disc seems to write okay (and I can read it on my PC using WinDVD)but refuses to play on my stand-alone DVD player which is a Pioneer DV-525. The Pioneer plays pre-recorded DVDs and also VCD's that I have burned in the past perfectly well. When I press the Play key, it just whirrs for a few seconds and then ejects the disc.

I don't know what else to try and I risk pulling out the remaining hairs I have left on my head in frustration!

    Any suggestions???

    Many thanks!!!
