well..lets c...ive wasted about 20 CDRs so far today seeing what workd with my new Apex AD-1200..it plays VCD's perfectly...but when i put a SVCD in, it *almost* starts to play, but then, it says "Stop (play to rseume)" so i press play...nothing... i hope some1 can help me...i now have 2 DVD players...and no use for either one but for playing DVDs....I WANT TO PLAY MY *@&$(#% SVCD's! ummm ty

Hard to imagine why anyone would "waste" 20 CDRs when you could buy one CD-RW for testing.

I've played SVCDs on this player (brother owns one). I always use TMPGenc with the standard SVCD template. Try that as a starting point. If you have already done that, I would take a known good SVCD to the store and try it on the demo unit. Perhaps yours is bad. All reports are that this thing will play everything short of a frisbee.

Why not use the SVCD sample on this site first to figure out if it's you or your player that's the problem?
