    HELP!!

    I have used many different step by step guides off this great website.

    but when i play the svcd back through my dvd player (philips 623) the picture is amazing but there is no audio. also there is no audio when playing back on my pc. i am using TMPGEnc to encode my files into svcd pal format (MpegII).

    Does anyone know of a step by step guide please that is for novices that has been proven to produce a good quality svcd PLEASE!!!

    I have a Philips 724 player and have to change the SPDIF settings. Don't know if your player has the same settings. I go into the setup, choose "SPDIF setup", then "SPDIF out" setting and change it to "PCM". I then get sound from my VCDs, SVCDs, etc.

    You'll have to change the setting back when playing retail DVDs.
