    yes dude
    its very easy
1)rip vob fiels to hard drive
    2) Use Dvd2Avi, and create a project
    3) Use Cdex, goto options, settings, change the quality to "very high quality" and put the bitrate min to 160 or 224, wutever u prefer..Leave default settings alone. Then quit out of options, goto convert, wav-mpeg, and select the audio file that Dvd2Avi created. Check normalize and Riff-Wave, and convert it.
    3) Use a Svcd calculator like is loacated on the top part of the tools section to calcute the bitrate to put a svcd on for instance 2 cds
    4) Open TMPGEnc, and load up the project file. For the audio part choose the file that cdex created. Then goto load, and load a svcd project. Then goto settings, change rate control mode to constant bitrate, and under it change the bitrate to wut u got in the bitrate calculator. Leave everything else alone, then convert, depedning on your speed, you should a beautiful svcd copy of the movie.
Personally, depedning on the length of the movie, u can eaisly make an absolutly beautiful svcd of a dvd in just 2 cds, that can be played on a dvd player...If u got any more ques, email me at shotgunanybody@hotmail.com... Good luck pal

you can use dvd2avi anyway, www.vcdhelp.com/mpeg2tovcd and in tmpgenc choose dvd instead of vcd.

or you can make xDVD www.vcdhelp.com/svcddvdr

  6. Previous suggestions are ok, but to use them you will reencode the films and this way loose some quality. I have been using the method described in www.vcdhelp.com/svcddvdr.htm, which only reencodes audio from 44 to 48 KHz, and the header trick with DVDPatcher. If your DVD player is capable of reading SVCD´s it is very likely that can read this sort of resulting SVCD´s on a DVD.

Basically, you need to: 1) open your CD´s and extract to the PC the big Mpg2 file that exists in one of the folders; 2) With TMPGEnc (or an alternative program) Demultiplex de mpg2 file to separate the video and audio componets into 2 independent files; 3) With TMPGEnc (or alternative) reencode the audio file from 44.1 KHz to 48 KHz; 4) With DVDPatcher edit the header of the video file and change resolution to an acceptable DVD resolution; 5) With a DVD authoring program, like Maestro, import the video and audio files, build menus, etc, save the project and close; 6) Edit again the video files with DVDPatcher and put the resolution back to the original settings; 7) Get back to the authoring program and compile to DVD format; 8) Burn the files to DVD.

Its easy, does not reencode video and you can put 4 hours of CB 2520 Kbps SVCD in just one DVD disk.

  7. Does this result in a DVD or a SVD on a DVD disc ?

  8. SVCD is mpeg2 and so is DVD. SVCD is 480X480 which is ok with DVD. So go ahead and have a ball :P
