Right, I wont lie I aint too sure how this works, except that it does!

I have noticed that some xp users are complaing they can't get CCE to run on their system, while others are having no bother. Now I also noticed something more intresting. People who had once used win xp and cce without a bother, then after a re-install they had no luck getting CCE to run at all. So I looked around a bit and being one of the people who has successfully installed win xp many times without it effecting his CCE began to think what could it be..... then it sprang to mind!!!

Most of the ppl who had no bother with CCE before and then had bother were usually people who used to do vcd and then got a dvd burner. Now one of the fav tools of all of these guys is the famed dvd2svcd.(see where I am going So i re-installed win xp on my system adn wella, I was actually happy to see CCE not working!! I then started up dvd2svcd, and improtantly CHANGED THE MATRIX FILES. Now i cancelled all of the dvd2avi encoding, audio encoding etc... But when it got to CCE I let it go... it patched in the matrices and wella A WORKING VERSION OF CCE 2.5.0.1 ON A WIN XP COMPUTER!!!!

Just my little tribute to the world of vcd whom I owe so much,
Oh yea and tyris for redvd;=))

  3. With Windows XP, I always run older/non-compatible programs under compatibility mode. This is very useful for old DOS games, and probably CCE as well.

  5. There is a patch around the net called for that problem. :P

Try to search "Cinema Craft Encoder" + "2.50 SP" + "CRC Patch".

I donīt know if with these words you will have success but this is what the patch is all about 8)

Does anyone have a method to change MATRIXs in CCE 2.50? DVD2SVCD MATRIXs are A LOT BETTER than those that come with CCE 2.50!!!!

  6. when you say winXP , are you talking about the engine built around the kernel or the kernel itself?

B/c I'm wondering if we win2k pro users can take advantage of this since we are all on the same kernel

Just want to say he is well right. The dvd2svcd author claimed that when the program puts in the matrixs it only puts in half of it but I think hes wrong!!!!!

I dont think win2k users have this problem.
