    MY New DVD Writer will not burn to DVD+RW its a Sony DRU120a so i know its compatible with them... can anyone help as I have been trying for 4 days now to burn to dvd. I can burn smaller files to CD-R no probs and thay play in my stand alone but it wont let me burn DVD+RW...

    Very Frustrated

    The message i am getting is
    " Sorry the current recorder supports only the following medium types
    CD-R and CD-RW, fixed packed writing but the compilation can only br writen on DVD medium, Please select a different recorder.."
    It looks like my my drive dpes not know it can record DVD+RW??

    Are you using Nero ???

    When you create a new project you have to select if it is a DVD or a CD...if it is set to CD it will spit out a DVD+R if it is in the drive (because it is expecting a CD-R)...vice versa if it is set to DVD...

    p.s. if you are not using Nero...give it a try....it knows about a lot of drives...
