I'm buying a tv capture card and have decided aginst a card with hardware encoding. Readings these forums it seems that the way to go for the best quality is a tv capture card with third party software. I plan to capture tv and burn it to DVD.

On the Danish market Pinnacle, Hauppauge or TerraTec seems like the best choice. So here comes my question: (and I do have one) If I'm going to use third party software which one of the above would be the best choice?

Asking that question will only result in the same old answers as you can find browsing/searching this forum. It is one of the most heavily discussed topics.

Surely from what you have browsed so far hasn't one particular capture application cropped up time and time again.....begins with V ??

Yes but what I meant with my question was, will all of the above tv cards work with thrid party software or is some of them known to not work with for example the particular capture application starting with the letter V?
