make dvd size smaller to fit on 4.7gig

Hello.
How can I copy a dvd movie that i own onto a single dvd? The problem is... is that the movie dvd is almost 2x's the size of my 4.7 gig blank dvd media.
I guess the thing I really need to do is resize the movie then nero it onto a blank. I just dont know the steps to follow.

do a little more research on this site and you should have your answer. I will tell you that if the "main" movie is 5.5 GB'S or less, the chances that you will be able to fit it on a single DVD-R without extras like that menu's and additional audio tracks, etc..is good. If not, you will need to reencode. Either way, you can accomplish your goal.
