  1. I have some vcd's that I have made and I wish to transfer them on to video tape. However whenever I do this they come out black and white. Any suggestions. Please note that they play fine in colour but when it comes to taping them it transfers them to black and white. I am in the UK. Please help !!!!

  2. Posting the same topic more than once only makes you hated. It does not get your question answered faster. And give more information in your posts. Like what you are playing the VCDs with. What you are taping them with. Ect...

Try to figure it out on your own as well. Instead of flooding the fourms.

  3. Well I beleive my issue falls into all three categories, as an experienced user maybe you can advise me on which forum to focus my attentions on. I am burning the vcd using nero, it plays fine on my sony n700 dvd player but when I try and copy it using my sony vcr it transfers it to black and white, does this help and sorry again.

  4. No matter what category you put your post in, it will show up on the main http://www.vcdhelp.com page. Most people reading the fourms (at least I do) just refresh the main page when reading for new posts (I don't take the time to go through each section). So all three of your posts showed up on the main page.

Check your wires. See if they are connected properly. Another problem may be that your VCR is not PAl (UK) or that the VCDs that you are burning are NTSC (US) and that they play fine on your DVD player cause it supports NTSC playback, but your VCR gets all screwy when you are trying to record NTSC standard on a PAL standard VCR. Or Vice Versa.

Give us the specs of your VCR (PAL or NTSC), DVD Player (PAL or NTSC), and the VCDs that you have (PAL or NTSC).

  5. If you are in the UK you will have a VCR that can play NTSC but not record NTSC, this is the case with nearly all new VCR's in the UK. I would assume that you are therefore trying to record from an NTSC VCD.

    You have 3 options.

Buy a VCR that can record an NTSC signal.
Convert your VCD to PAL, then record it on your current VCR
    Get a NTSC-PAL converter.

PS moderators will just close duplicated questions, so there is no point posting the same question in multiple forums.
