  2. Does it play in your computer? If the computer is able to recognize it as a VCD, and play it, it's a possiblity your samsung doesn't like the media.

  4. Yeah, you're close. Try playing the VCD in a media player (windows media player, or get a trial version of a DVD program). From what you've said, it looks like the computer recognizes it as a VCD, and the folders seem correct. But overall, it's really hard for me to say because i'm not actually creating your VCD...
Do you have any other brands of CD-Rs? If you have any CD-RWs (and your DVD player can read them), use those for testing, so you don't end up with 100 messed up CDs.

  7. I looked up your DVD player, and it can play CD-Rs and CD-RWs. I would highly recommend investing in a few CD-RWs. They are VERY good, especially when you're just starting out.
I have an APEX DVD player, it cost little and plays just about any media, it might even play a dinner plate if i put it in. If you want to, try using a maxell, see if that works.
Just a few questions of how you're going about the whole process...
    1) What filetype are you putting into VCDEasy?
    2) Are you following a tutorial anywhere? if so, please post a link so i can try to figure out what you're doing.

I'm running low on ideas, but i'll try my best to help.

  10. The whole process worked for me in one try...
Here's what you got to do...
    1) RELAX
    2) Tell me EXACTLY which tutorial you're using, there are several newbie tutorials
    3) Are you RIPPING a DVD (from an actual dvd), or are you using a movie you downloaded/already had on your computer (if so, which file format were they in to start with).
Now... it's 1:30 AM over here, and i really need to go to bed. I will try to help you again tomorrow, so if you can't figure it out (or nobody else can help), take a break for now, and we'll continue tomorrow ok?

  13. Ok, here's what i did. I took an AVI file and followed these tutorials:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm
After converting the AVI file to MPEG, i followed this tutorial (which uses VCDEasy):
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdeasyhowto.htm

When i was done, i had a working VCD, that worked on my computer's DVD player, and my regular DVD player that is hooked into my TV. If you follow these tutorials step-by-step, things should work out fine. If your home DVD player still will not play the VCD, then it is possible it won't read that brand of media, or won't play VCDs. I would then suggest trying the VCD on a friends DVD player to see if it works.

    Best of Luck to you!
    Mojo
