  1. Hi there guys I looking for some advice on what DVD player would be best. I currently have a Tosh sd210 but with the compatability problems this player has I am now ready to move on. From the reviews on this site I have drawn up a short list Tosh sd220 or the pioneer dvd-350.

Due to the current compatability problems with my current tosh I m more bias toword the Pioneer.

The player needs to be compatable with S/VCD & DVD-r etc.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I dont know about the details of the products you have mentioned, but assuming they both do what you want them too, I would go for the pioneer every time.

To check format and media compatability, look at the DVD players compatability list.

  3. I will go for a Pioneer too. But DV350 may not be the best model, if you are looking for compatibility.

You should look up the DVD players list/report on this site to compare various Pioneer models.

Boycott Apex DVD players. They don't play back DVD-R and they've dropped VCD playback.

  6. Get Pioneer!

I got the new 5 disc DVD/CD/VCD/SVCD/MP3 player. It is the best for all of your A/V formats both retail and homemade!

Pioneer plays MP3's better than any player that I have seen. It has a Winamp style OSD and can play the files in random mode and with digital audio output. Very clean audio. Even at 128kps they sound as good as the orginal CD audio.

I've read that the PQ is better on Toshiba and Panasonic players than on Pioneer. Is it very noticeable or do you not agree?

Just FYI - bought the Father-in-Law a Toshiba SD-310V (SD310V) for $98 at Wal-Mart. Does not seem to play SVCD. At least it didn't play the 3 SVCDs (Alias Episode and a couple of episodes of "Taken") that I KNOW work on my Apex 1600.

Anyway, we are taking it back tomorrow to get the Apex.

    Cya!
