  1. I recently downloaded the DVD Decrypter, which is the best DVD to DVD-R burning softare there is, IF your DVD is less than 4.7 GB, so the author says. I looked around and I guess the new double sides 9.6 GB DVD-r are out (or have been out), basically what the DVD producers use. Can the DVD decryption software work with these new DVD-R's? If so, does this spell the end of ripping, converting, then burning and still getting lesser quality? Basically, I want to know before I blow $50+ dollars on the new 9.6 GB DVD-R cd's.. Thanks

  2. You are thinking of two different things... the 9.4 GB DVD-Rs are double sided, not dual layer. The DVD's that the 'producers' use are dual layer and can't be created by any DVD-R drive. These DVDs are really just like having a 4.7 GB disc on each side of the disc instead of 9.4 on one side.

The way they market these '9.4 GB Discs' is very misleading.
