  1. encoded a dvd using rempg2, after fixing all the needed stuff using ifoedit. When playing back the movie on a stand alone player the picture hangs, i use the sony dru-500a and burned the dvd to a dvd-r at 2 speed . Has this problem something to do with the decoded bitrate, should i burn the dvd at 1 speed or has it to do with something else??

  2. I had a similar problem.

    I would burn at 1x.

What happened was this: when I first began making DVD-R copies, I used some cheap media, and forgot to change the speed settings in RecordNowMax. It was set on Max, and the DVD burned at 2x, even though the cheap media was not 2x certified. The playback would hang and freeze, and you'd have to fast forward or rewind to get the picture moving again. However, the disc played without problems in a PC drive.

Even when I buy high quality media that is 2x certified, I burn at 1x. It's worth the extra time since I have never had a coaster since.
