  1. i bought 100 of the dvd-r discs at shop4tech ones listed for 69. white top. i love the discs accept they will not burn past 504 minutes. even though they say 510 minutes. i know its the discs because the other generics disks will burn fine. they say leda but when detected the software says they are princo. my burner is the sony dru500 and ive tried before a firmware update and after going to the new f firmware and no differance.

  2. Keep in mind Shop4tech informs all buyers that these discs have a high failure rate, I use their Ritek which I can get $86 for a 100 and not one failure yet.

  3. were do they tell you this? the reviews on the site are all positive but when i posted my review i found out why, since they screen the reviews before they are posted on the webpage. i can only think this is to stop any negative reviews.

  4. 504 minutes of what? sure others would like to know,
alsom sometimes the cheapest isnt the best, especially
when talking about discs...most cdr burners wont burn
just anything...c'mon now, u know how touchy they are,
buy a 10-pack and see how it goes, and if u decks like em
    buy more...

  5. when you burn an image of a dvd with dvd decrypter it will tell you how much space the disc has. and while its burning its counting the minutes burned to the disc. ( of course i talking about backing up dvd movies that i own). the first 100 i bought were accu and didnt have a coaster. so i will be ordering them again. i just like the white top on the leda discs. witch if you do not plan to burn dvd-r to the max capacity then they are fine.

  6. In general when using a harddrive for video it should be a different drive from the one that contains the operating system. Furthermore, there is an advantage of not having the video drive on the same IDE ports as a CD or DVD. Thus, the preferred configuration on a motherboard without a separate raid controller would be the system drive and the video drive on IDE 1 and any optical and/or ZIP drive on IDE2.
One drive on an ide port does not directly impact the speed of the other (modern IDE controllers) and they may operate in different modes. With a Raid controller on the motherboard (4 Available IDE ports), I would suggest using a different controller for the video capture drive.

Maxtor have a write up on video capture you may find of interest here:
