Well the thing is that, as most of you all know episodes of Star Trek, Simpsons Survivor etc can be found on IRC USENET etc. What I found remarkable is that the Star Trek TNG episodes are 44 mins long and only 60-90 megs in size at reso of 320*480 at 25 fps and the data rate under windows says 23 kbps. The quality is still quite respectable. The only problem is that the movies take a bit of cpu power to process and they turn green for about 5 secs when scroling through the episode. What I wanted to ask is that does anyone here know how to rip dvd to divx and still get these kind of results at low birates?

Well I've already seen that guide and its very basic. I'm looking for a more advanced technique. I've tried that way with many DVDs but the provide high quality at high birates only. Anyone else?
