i read the reviews based on this site - http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=1734&Search=Search&#comments
however i won't be using it for svcd's or rips or nothing, just commerical dvd's from different regions, so how is the dvd quality and stuff?

from those reviews i would pass on that player. they said picture quality was POOR with retail dvds, and more than one person said that. since that is what you are looking for i would keep looking. your best bet is to sort the players list with the highest rated option and read away. find your region free player with a good rating based on more than 3 reviews

Plays VCD/SVCD DVD-R/DVD-RW; however, I am having a problem with DVD's I haved burned using my Pioneer A04 with firmware version 1.31.
If I use Nero to Copy DVD on the fly to either DVD-R or DVD-RW media the Cyberhome DVD 500 will play the movie; however, if I burn using Nero's DVD-Video mode and simply drop the entire contents of the source video-ts folder into nero's video-ts folder the results will not play on the CH-DVD 500. These same disc will play on both my Apex 500w and Sampo DVE-631CF players.
When I make my own DVD movies, the only method I have used is Nero's DVD-Video mode. What is nero doing different between the two methods described? What method(s) can I use to burn my own DVD movies so they will be compatible with my new Cyberhome CH-DVD 500 player?
One thing I noticed when I look at the directory of the Video-TS file folder between the orginal and copy (using Nero's DVD-Video mode) the files are not in the same order. Everything else is the same file name, size etc.... I think I remember reading in some forum that Nero changes the order of the files and some players take exception to this. Is there anyway to not have Nero change the order of the files? Can they be reorderd manually? If so, what is the proper order to make the resulting discs play on the most players.?
Thanks Much In Advance
Ron
