I would like to buy the Nero application. Unfortunately it does not come with the Sony DRU-500A and the cheap OEM Nero CD priceing appears to be only available if you purchase OEM hadware. Since I'll probably pick up the DRU500A at CC or BB I need an online source that will sell it to me.
A place that I can purchase blank dvd-r media along with Nero would be excellent.
Thanks.

Could you please post your Accu's Manufacturer ID from ADVDInfo ?
More info here http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdmedia -
You might want to check out ebay. I bought Nero 5.5 off of Ebay for around $14. I've since upgraded for free to 5.5.9.17. I just placed an order for 50 Accu DVD-R media for $55 (free shipping) at www.meritline.com

I would realy appreciate if you can post your Accu's Manufacturer ID as soon as you will get them from Meritline.com. My says it's Ritek and I was not able to burn them 2x. In addition I had some error messages (burned only 1 disk so far). I wonder if I should call them.... If you are expecting 2x burning speed... maybe you should order from different place.Originally Posted by rkr1958

I just saw this
CompUSA.com offers Ahead's Nero Burning ROM 5.5 for $39.99
before a $20 mail-in rebate, $19.99 after. Shipping is $5.
It's the lowest total price we've seen for this retail-boxed
version; the OEM version can typically be found for $10 or
less. Offer ends today. -
And here is the link for it.

I took me between 25 to 30 minutes to burn a 3.2-GB file to one of these discs. I did this four out of four times. Does this mean I'm getting 4x?Originally Posted by donpedro

Nope.... that mean that you are getting 2x. Which is expected (but not always delivered) from Accu media.
