Pioneer A05 firmware version - where to get the latest?

I have an A05 w/ firmware v 0.52. Where can I get an upgrade and do I need an upgrade? I see some in the forums here using 1.0. What does the 1.0 upgrade do for me?

Don't upgrade m8. Pioneer messed up and recalled a load of 0.52 drives to update to version 1.0

Your version should work fine with cheaper disks. The 1.0 version is pioneers block on cheap media compatability. Stay away from 1.0

I just bought mine and has V1 on it. I haven't had any problems with any media yet. Will try more. Are you recommending that I should downgrade to V.52?

so if I upgrade to 1.0 and then want to revert back to 0.52 can I do it? I read somewhere that one cannot re-flash the firmware. I think it applies to the A04 and people wanting to revert back to 1.31. Can someone clairify?

Now that is interesting. It would appear that peioneer have us over a barrel here. If you want to write at 4x, then upgrade to 1.0 but the downside is that cheap media wont work. Sounds very similar to the A04 1.33 firmware saga. Its your choice.
