Now that there is firmware 1.0f for the SONY DRU500a, my question is, what is the best, most effective, but most inexpensive media to date? I have read several posts regarding media, etc..but most are when the DRU500a was initially purchased, and wasn't based on firmware revision 1.0f. I know that the latest firmware supports 4x DVD+R, but I am not really conerned with burning at 4x if the price is ridiculous. I have gotten some great deals on Verbatim Disks that are DVD+R/15 pack spindle, for $45, but with a $7 mail in rebate, which brings each disk to about $2.60 a piece. That is expensive, but it's a lot better priced then the packs that are $4 or $5 dollars a piece. I saw the same TDK disks I have been using on Pricewatch.com...and the problem was that 200 discks were like $600 bucks!!! That's crazy. I would like to get at least 100 or so, but what would be the best, most inexpensive disks? I have not had a single coaster with the Verbatim's or TDK'S, so anything that would work as flawless would be perfect. I have read about ACCU AND RITEK, and Princo, etc...but which ones would be the best? Thanks in advance for any info on this.

Here's another vote for the Accu.
I got 50 with DVD cases for $70 from Meritline. After several tests with a Sony DVD+RW, my fifth Accu is burning right this moment. So far I'm 4 outta 4. Knock wood. -
thanks for the info...looks like I'll have to put in an order. I will just wait a couple more days and see if by chance other people respond with more media/price options.

I got 50 Ritek Prime from shop4tech.com. I have burned about 30 without single problem. It was burned 2x with 1F firmware.

Little bit Halloween theme.... (scary). Don't expect to get same media that other people are posting if you go with cheap un-marked DVDs. At least that is my experience with Accu on "some" store....
