  1. I have a xvid format avi file that I am trying to convert into SVCD. When I play the file in windows media is plays fine but I get no sound. When I try to look at the file in Virtual Dub and extract the wave file a get an error. If I try to decompress the file it says it is not a valid avi format. I have installed xvid and divx drivers. I can play a standard DIVX fine.

    Can anyone help!!!!

  2. First, find a download gspot. It will tell you what codec you are missing for the sound.

Second, look under convert to your left. There is a guide somewhere in there on converting xvid movies to mpeg by frameserving them from virtualdub to Tmpgenc. That should allow you to create an SVCD.
