  1. I am trying to back up my DVD collection and I first used Ifoedit to strip any unwanted audio track and subtitle.
Now that I have the vob files I want they are still too big to fit on one side so I had to reencode them using CCE.
First I created a project using dv2avi which generated an d2v file and an ac3 file which shows 0 delay.
Then I used Vfapi converter to convert the d2v file into something CCE understands.
I load the file I want to convert in CCE, modified the encoding parameters (CBR with a fix rate of 5000kbps), untick video information and audio since I am not interested in audio
Encoding was ok and pretty fast
After that I used Ifoedit to remux the encoded file which now fits on a DVD-R
When remuxing is finished and I get all the VTS sectors, I tried to play the DVD files using Power DVD
It plays fine but there is a delay between the audio and the video. The delay is quite long (more than 3s I would say)
I tried with all the CCE files which were reencoded and I have the same problem.
Is there anybody who could help me ?
I am not going back to Remepg since it keeps crashing and resetting my computer and it is too slow
    Thanks for any help

Ifoedit does not remux files encoded with CCE,you get the audio synch problem. I believe there is a convoluted workaround for that problem. I find it much easier to author files created with CCE,you'll have no audio synch problem if you author it,you could use IFOEDIT in it's author mode for this just don't remux.

  3. Hi Wulf109,

    Thanks for the answer
That's annoying because I switched from rempeg to CCE for a better quality and faster encoding speed but if I have to waste all this time I have saved in reauthoring the DVD, there is no advantage apart of the quality.

How do you reauthor the DVD ?
I have scenarist but I have not used it yet.
I don't mind using scenarist if what I can to is just recreating a VOB file which contains the encoded files and then reuse IfoEdit to get the VTS sector with other vob files
What I don't want is spending time reauthor the movie

I guess I can use Ifo edit in author mode to recreate the vob but this might be ok only for a movie without the extra
    Thanks for your help

I use SpruceUp to author. I would think Scenarist would work the same way. Import oyur m2v file and will automatically import the ac3 file. Check it in simulation mode and then let it complile. Ifoedit can be used and it allows you to retain chapter info.
CCE is very fast compared to Rempeg,on my Xp1600 CCE works at realtime in 1passVBR,Rempeg requires 4x-rea;time and the quality is better. Authoring only requires about half an hour to setup and complile.
